From The New Captian

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new members to our seniors Section, and I am looking forward to meeting everybody during our forthcoming season.

We have arranged a full programme of events on Tuesdays and hopefully we will again be able to play our Inter Club Matches which were curtailed over the last few years.

All the relevant information is on the Seniors web site and is also on our Seniors Notice board.

To enter our Tuesday competitions is via Master-scoreboard, where you have the choice to enter your names in one of three time slots. A draw for tee times will then take place and members will play in three balls with the odd four ball team competition.

I will be entering a different a time slot every week, where I hope to play with as many different Senior Members as possible. I ask everybody to possibly consider doing the same, where you will meet and play with different Senior Members.

The Very Ethos of our Seniors Section is to play Golf, well at times, meet our fellow members socially over a cuppa or even a beer.

We are also very good at Charitable Fund Raising. Over the years the senior section has raised thousands of pounds which has gone to support our Local Charities within Carmarthenshire. It would be great if members are able to support all our fundraising events.

I have had several members speak to me over their concern that Covid hasn’t gone away, as at present Wales has the highest number of Positive cases in the UK.

Please could I ask everyone to respect fellow members wishes, if they do not feel confident to socialise at these still very difficult times or wish to wear masks within the confine of the clubhouse.

I look forward to meeting everybody over this forthcoming season that includes new and old members I feel very honoured to be Captain of Derllys Seniors section.
